What part of in La do you not understand
I think it might have rained a inch or two at my house while I was at work.

There is about a 30 minute time gap between these next two pictures and the rain had quit by the second picture. There is a ditch that runs next to my property and crosses the road here so this is water from upstream. Had to park in my neighbors yard as I could not get to my driveway.

Here we go again. They are forecasting rain tonight and tomorrow here in SC. Much of any rainfall will run off since the ground is wet from last night's rain.

John we got off easy here compared to y'all . Very wet , only had a hood or two blow around no floating or flying.
 
WE got some of that here in south Mississippi as well not as much though. I have heard of a few trees down but not much damage as shown over there. Most of the water was drained off this morning around my house.
 
This was all drained off in a couple of hours.
Watched the weather last night and the locals with rain gauges were reporting 4 inches or less.
But I kind of question that.
We could have been in a area that got more or the gauges could have been wrong from the strong winds blowing the rain almost sideways.
In either instance the short amount of time the rain fell was the major factor.
The rain came down so hard and heavy it could not drain off as fast as it was falling.
As you can see from the pictures the rain had stopped but the water kept coming up as water from up stream backed up more and more.
But once did stop coming up it went down as fast as it had came up.
