Maple Sap is flowing

As I posted Friday, we got our sap buckets all hung. Temp reached 54F yesterday, and it is 37F now. I went up and checked the buckets. They hold 16qts. They ranged from a third full to 3/4 full across the front of the woods. Tomarrow will be a big day. I suspect the buckets will be full, or near full by tomarrow morning when we start gathering. There will be well over 6,000gal of sap to gather tomarrow. We have 3550gals of storage includeing the gathering tanks, so once the evaporators are loaded with sap in the morning, they will be imediately fired. the 2 evaporators hold about 220gal. We are supposed to drop back down in temp some next week so the sap flow will slow down, maybe, but who knows with this years weather. As you can see in the pics., there is no snow. We could have a fast and fourious 10 day season or it could be a bust if the weather comes off wet and warm.
The last pic is from Friday. The last bucket hung for 2016. 2490 buckets hung.

Wish my maples would produce sap but they do not seem to and what little I have seen it is not worth the time it takes to try. I tested a couple a few years ago and got nothing

I live in Missouri and the maples are what would be called a soft wood maple. I tried tapping a few around this time of year a few years back and got nothing

WhooHoo cant wait. I thoroughly enjoyed the Maple Syrup i bought from you last year. Cant wait to order some more when it gets ready.. Also i enjoy looking at the pictures you post of the process.
