Muffler question

Hello,

My grandpa purchased a '39 A.C. B to use on his farm. In 1951 some photos were taken of the tractor with a unique muffler, not original to the tractor. Can anyone help identify the muffler? or point me in the direction to find out? The muffler was gone before I was born.

I would guess a car or truck muffler. Possible a "power" unit muffler. They run much quieter than the standard. One time I put a Pinto muffler on one of the tractors. Really knocked the noise down. My dad took it off cause it didn't sound like it was makeng enough power. Go Figger,.Just ran fine but not enough noise. To say the least he didn't use ear plugs. Was almost as deaf as a fence post.
 
I just looked at the photos on my 17 inch lap top. Get a load of the chains on the left wheel. Wow
