Tractor lift arm wear blocks

With the down time now I am doing a few little repairs. I have too much distance between the tractor wear blocks and the lift arms on my tractor. When I load my tractor, the mower is on one side or the other on the trailer. The mower doesn't fllow the tractor. Making it hard to center the mower by my self. I have about a inch on each side of the lift arms, and the wear blocks. I guess I could cut a 3 inch pipe in half, and stack 4 or 5 pieces pieces on each side, or anyone have a different idea. I already have the blocks turned sideways. Stan

Mine has an extra link attaches to rear axle and outside of right 3pt link. Pretty much prevents sway.

What kind of tractor and what kind of mower? In my experience, the wear blocks or elephant ears usually have some slack. We often used a forth link between one of the lower three point pins on the mower and a mounting point under the axle of the tractor to prevent the side to side sway. My current small tractor has sway chains with a turn-buckle on both sides of the lift arms, terminating to mounting points under the axle that accomplish the same function. I've seen similar turnbuckle - chain arrangements and telescoping links that can be pinned at different lengths as aftermarket add-ons. That would be my recommendation before welding up spacers on your wear blocks.

My MF has those chins. I checked my JD there just isn't much in the way of mounts to add a chain. Will have another look. Stan

(quoted from post at 19:40:24 02/17/16) Yes it's my JD 401 industrial. Stan

JD 401 should have sway blocks similar to photo. One position is for Cat l then flip block 90 degrees for Cat ll implements.

stan, i took a gander at shoups catalog, and it loos like they have the sway block for about 45 dollars each, if yours uses the same blocks as the 1530 and similiar tractors. they replace numbers t30276, t21463,t30277,t21464, shoup parts number 35200 and 35205. give em a hollar at 800-627-6137 or shoup parts dot com

The problem is probably that the mower mounts are not set to cat II dimensions. If they can't be adjusted, I would just shim out the sway blocks and be done with it. I would be surprised to see sway blocks worn so bad that you have that kind of movement. A pic would help.
