Tuesday Map update

The map has really exploded. New entries are slowing down now, but still getting more. We're up to 624 entries. I thought there were a few more over seas members. I did find how to set the list to come up by default.

Some are saying they can't get the map to come up. Only thing I can say about that is, try a different browser like Firefox or Chrome. Or use a different computer, neighbor, kids, parents.

I gave up trying. all I get now is a large map of my area, and can't get rid of it. If any one is interested I live 30 miles north of San Diego Ca. Stan

Call me paranoid but I intentionally put my location as the nearest town. I didn't want to advertise my exact location in case the price of scrap goes up!

Stan, look down in the lower right corner, there is a "+ and -" box. Click on the "-" box and the map will expand out from your area.

You can put it anywhere you want. I even recommend it.

Yup, the + and - got moved from upper left to lower right on my map too.
Took me a few moments last night to find it.

I don't know why the zoom got changed. It was a slider on the left when I first started this. I haven't found any setting for it. Guess it could be an update by the provider.

FYI the map sends me an email with the specifics of your entries when your pin is placed. So you can put in your true address if you like. I always go in and edit it out. I don't want this to become a road map for bad guys. I even skew the location some. So don't be surprised if you pin ends up being off by a mile or so.

My email is open in Classic view. You can send me any changes you want or need.

I do not know how many people are active on this site. I know when I put up a short Youtube video some time ago on one of the forums here it took about 6-700 hits in the following couple of days. You are right in the same ballpark.

I did that too. I couldnt pinpoint my exact location to save my life so i settled on using the zip.

I posted on the other thread that my pin is a mile north of actual location, but after reading other responses, maybe that is a good thing, that pin is on a neighbors place, he is a gun nut, so he will be ok, but the intruder may not be so safe.

I get the map to come up fine, but when I put my location in, I ended up east of Peoria, Illinois, not on the east coast of Florida.

Would appreciate help whenever you can find time.

I've been deleting double entries. I figure they're mistakes. You can put it back in again. Add a #2 or something after your name and I'll know to leave it.

OneFarmer , I just want to say your map project is great. I enjoy looking around and seeing all the YTers on there and where they are from. It puts a place to the names i see on here posting and thats really neat. Great Job

I tried to change my location and add my handle. Now I have two locations. SORRY. The Delmar Smith (Wheatfarmer) is the correct one. Can you list some instruction how to make changes to our own location. Thanks. Move maps.

Just each guy that placed their pin chose a different color. Some just to be different. Some to match their tractor.

Sorry once your pin is placed I'm the only one that can remove it. After things die down I'm going to see if I can lock down the map. I found a setting where you can place a pin, but it would need to be approved first.
