Fordson New Major Vs. Fordson Power Major

Hi All, Thank you in advance.

I recently purchased either a Fordson Power Major or a Fordson New Major. I am extremely new to this. This is my very first tractor I have purchased.

Does anyone out there happen to know how I can determine what Year or atleast type of tractor this is? The serial number plate is unreadable and therefore I cannot look this up that way. Essentially I really only need to know if this is a Power Major or a new Major, from what I gather so that I can order parts and so on. Any help would be appreciated.

How about a picture or two? If you are
new to the board you might have to ask
the moderators to allow picture posting
as it is blocked for a little while for
newbies.

Hmm. Tried to upload, but it appears it replied with a blank. How do I go about asking the moderator permission?

I'd only heard of Major, Power Major, and Super Major- no New Major. Checked the serial number list on this board and they only have those 3. You might try this question on the Fordson board on this site- lots more expertise over there.

The parts books are available online from New Holland Search for "FMD" it covers all Majors from 1953 to 1964. You may be able to look at the differnt illustrations and narrow down your year range.

Hi, click on the blue heading, Yesterday's Tractors Forum Index found above this forum box.
Scroll down to Fordson, click on that and put your post there.
There are many helpful people there to help you.
Good luck with your tractor, and remember posting a picture always helps! They will help you with that too!
Regards
Brian

New Major sometimes referred to the model succeeding the E27N --also called the Fordson Major
