EPA to regulate racing?

Here is an article in Cycle News. As such, it largely talks about the impact of possible rulings on modifying motorcycles for racing.

Should do wonders for stack car racing, should they decide to try to regulate that.

Is this really a major source of pollution?

The way I understood it is if you have a factory vehicle, and modify it race use, you must keep the pollution control junk in tact. If you say, build a stock car, or motorcycle or whatever then you don't need to worry about it. THis article doesn't say that, but either way, it will eventually effect any engine. But I recall like 15 - 16 years ago the talk of making tractor mufflers with a cat inside, or some such. I'm not so sure it matters, hot rodders will find a way around it......

Under the current administration, the EPA seems to have no bounderies. From occasional farm puddles, mostly dry drainage swales to competion racing, tractor pulls, garden tractor pulls, they could be inserting themselves into as many dealings as they can. Why???? gov't control. Coming to an old tractor near you--that engine needs emission control or it can't be run. Boy oh boy seems the train has jumped the track and running off on its own. just my opinion gobble

Thousand of Polar Bears dying every day because of global warming. We need to stop global warming as soon as we can, or they will all be gone. The motorcycles are the cause of this. Not the jet planes or giant locomotives, or cars. Just the motorcycles. This insanity needs to stop folks. Be sure to vote. Stan

Check SEMA's website. They are talking of making it illegal to remove emissions control equipment for the purpose of building a dedicated racecar.

Currently you can't legally remove it and keep it licensed.

EPA has become little more than a revolving door, enabling people working for the likes of the Kochs, Waltons, Bloomberg's, etc, through funding of alphabet soup environmental organizations with their charitable trusts, to make connections and lobby congress legally.

Western Watersheds Project is one such group. The addresses used for registering the website and corporation are the addresses for entities tied to Michael Bloomberg. But since the donations exceed a certain dollar amount, neither party has to report who the money came from.
