Hey Delta Red not from Co. But Grand Junction, Palisades area is my play ground. Like the song words, if God didn't make Colorado I know that is where he spends most of this time.

I live in the middle of the state (Nathrop Co)so three hours from DeltaRed which is to far, but we Talk daily. I think we should have a Colorado get together this summer.

(quoted from post at 11:34:24 02/13/16).................................... I think we should have a Colorado get together this summer.

Yeah......Salida might be good for all of us. What do you think?

I'm from Co., born in Greeley. Several members of my family are still in that area. Ft. Collins is a frequent destination for me, my brother lives there.

Grampy - Our local vet, Farmer City, IL, Harold Hester was from Greeley. His mother and brother, Kenneth also a vet lived there.

Red........grew up in Durango, went to collage in Pueblo, gotta FCC 1st Class License and a job as engr at KREY-TV in Montrose. Neighbor told Mom I was gonna be drafted fer Viet Nam, so joined the USAF instead. Found out years later, I would have been F-4'd 'cuz of BAD hearing but as an volunteer, I was good to go. (frown) I ended up launching ICBM's outta Vandenberg AFB, Calif west to Pacific Missile Range. I then gotta job at a missile tracking station in Hawaii and watched them go by. Bendix Field Engr then transferred me to Johnston Is, 700-mi from Honolulu where all wages were "tax free". Then Bendix transferred me back to Baltimore for the Apollo man-to-moon project. I flew around the world "free" fer 2-yrs and got married to a California girl. Left her fer 'nutter Apollo job in Hawaii and came home all "tanned" while she'd been chipping ICE off'n her new car windows. We were working Houston time and were on the ground by noon Hawaii time. What are you gonna do in Hawaii at noon, lay on the beach, right? She insisted I putta transfer request fer Goldstone Tracking station. Instead I got hi-jacked fer Network Controller at JPL in Pasadena. Worked there until my GI-bill college expired, went to PLU in Stockton, Calif. After graduating, wife gotta job teaching Dental Hygiene in Steilacoom, Wash. Figggered I'd gitta job at Boeing. Took me 5-yrs to gitt in the back door. I was a Flight Test Engr fer 20-yrs and forced to retire and went back to college fer my 4-th degree. Yeah, 4-degrees and $5 gittcha cuppa KAUPHY at Starbucks........Durango Dell

I grew up near Swink which is in the La Junta/Rocky Ford area. I haven't lived there for 20 years but my folks are still there so I consider it "going home" when we visit there.

Know the area. Bought a 560 from King Tractor at LaJunta 25 years ago. Visit Allen Goodman at Muth Farm Equipment from time to time.BTW,that low RR bridge west of Swink was real spooky when hauling a tall 95 combine from Kansas 3 years ago.

from Rush, Colorado, population 750 or so. Eastern Colorado just east of Colorado Springs. No gas station, no stores, 1 cafe, 1 church, 1 school and a post office about the size of my storage shed out back. A whole lot smaller than Colorado springs but a whole lot better place to live.

Grew up in Woodland Park, CO and some how ended up in Lyons, CO. Been here for over 20 years. Spend a week every spring in Durango, CO skiing at Purgatory. During the summer I spend a lot of time up by Kremling, CO rafting the Colorado river.

I lived in Colorado off and on for almost 20 years. Limon, Bennett, and Evergreen. Worked for Kalcevic Farms back in the 80s and a bit in the 90s. Most of you have seen their picture with all the Veratile tracors.

Our three boys live in CO. so we visit regularly. One in Grand Junction, one in Breckenridge, and one in Boulder and when we visit we hike and ski among other things.
