Converting from 6 volt to 12 volt on my Ford 9n

I purchased the conversion kit some time ago and have finally gotten around to installing the kit. After talking to someone from Yesterday, and because I had the original inductive style ammeter,
I ordered a new ammeter and a new resister. The original kit had a resister #IDR6000 in it. My question is since I have a new resister
#A8NN12250B, I do not need to incorporate the resister #IDR6000
into the rewiring of the alternator. Am I correct. Also, should I also eliminate the old Step Up, as the new alternator has a voltage regulator in it. Appreciate any advice. Thanks

You need the #A8NN12250B resistor no matter what. ALWAYS use that. Whether or not you need the other resistor depends on what coil you're using. If the original 6v coil, yes. If a 12v coil, no. Don't know what you mean by "step up".
Post your questions on the Ford N board here and you will get better responses.
Also search the archives for lots of info.

Randy's got you covered on the resistors/coils.
Google "wiring diagrams by JMOR" for the wiring.
Very easy to follow pictograms for all the N series.
Just pick the one you need for your conversion.
