i just got a super 77 diesel and am wanting to build it up for pulling before tear-down it was dynoed at 25 hp witch was definitely way under power from my knowledge on these tractors. I have been looking at some different routes on this tractor ads to increasing power by putting on a roosa master pump or keeping the PSB and boring it over to 3-3/4in any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated thank you

When you had it on the dyno, what did it act like? A good tune up may do wonders for it. What have you checked on it up to this point? Who's 3-3/4 inch pistons are you planning on using? Making it a 232 might be a good choice.

i ran smooth just low on the rpm's the pto was running at 500 rpm at wot we estimated that the motor must have been turning at least a couple hundred under it was at about 25-28hp we took out the motor and found that it spun a main at one point but the crank was replaced after it needs new valves bearings main and connecting rod wrist pin bushings number 3 piston is scored and ring gap is off on all. checked crank for out of round it was .001" out on on main and one connecting rod journal. the over bore kit i was looking at was from my tractor parts off ebay the kit come with everything except valves. the crank specs were 2.250" on both mains and rods with number 1 be out .001" main and connecting rod. any way to steer me with pistons and info would be greatly appreciated

Horse power is measure at rated PTO speed, so if it not get to 540 wide open you don't have a reading on horse power. Remember the same PSB pump was used on the 302 cubic inch engines used in the 99 tractors as well. Also if you are thinking Roosa Master you will need to remark the flywheel as Bosch PSB pumps are timed to the start of injection, Roosa Master pumps to the end of injection, You also need to get your valve recession set correctly so that means new valve seats and thing about larger valves because latter 232 engines had larger valves, but now you better get the area sonic tested to see if you have enough metal in the combustion chamber. Questions? You have e-mail

right we estimated the horse power with what the dyno was saying i do have an email i am looking at the roosa master because of parts that are avalible compared to the psb pump here is my email [email protected]

Well notice his governor is out of adjustment because he does not have the right RPM. In theory he had no horsepower because he could not reach rated RPM where you check the horsepower. Governor adjustment, Valve clearance, pump timing. pump advance if it has one, air cleaner element, new fuel filters, injection nozzles. You get the picture.
