key start on farmall super m-ta

I want to put a key start on my super m ta. It has a solenoid on top of the starter with a push button start not a pull rod start I'm looking a steiner tractor part abc 065 with two terminals on it would this work in place of the current push button start

Go to NAPA and buy a 'generic' key switch. One that has Start;Run;Accessory;Off. Got two of them on tractors here.

Yes , i did one on my one friends S/MTA years ago . I used the key switch from a 400 . I added about and inch and a half to the ammeter light switch box and stuffed it all in there . Even put the flip up weather cover over it . Looked good when done .

the solenoid has two wires running to the push start button would i be able to put a key start in place of the push button start

Yes.One terminal is power in. one terminal to 'energise' solenoid;one terminal to ignition;one terminal to accessory.The terminals are labeled.
