Cauliflower in Canada

News story today about the high price of fresh vegetables in Canada, due to California drought and weak Canadian dollar. Cauliflower is $8 a head, and families can't afford it!

In other news, hundreds of Canadian children are being treated for injuries sustained while fist pumping, high fiving, and other celebratory moves when they heard the news.

you can get cauliflower for $2-3 if you look around. I got some for 2.50 on the weekend and saw some in a flyer 2 for $4.

4 liter bag of milk , or a head of lettuce , same price. $3.77 at the Walmart. I think there is more in the milk for a body then the lettuce.

Hi, yes it's true information, advertised price from the leading grocery store was $6.99 one week and this week
$7.99. I don't know if they sold any at that price. We do have a smaller grocery store, No name brand, selling the same item cauliflower Pacific from California this week's special .97. Clerk in the store claimed they couldn't stock the shelf fast enough . This is on the east coast of Canada. Cheers, Murray

I just hope the farmers are getting the benefit of the high prices. I don't do much buying but I see we are still eating well.

Cauliflower was $6.00 two weeks ago, is $3.99 this week in southern Alberta. I echo the previous poster- I hope the growers are getting some of that!
