So I am trying to plan some extended range tractor show visits this year. I know there is one in vista CA. According to the schedule they have two, one in June and one in October. Anybody have a preference of which one is better?

When is the one in Mt. Pleasant?
 
I went to the Vista Show 4 different times in the middle 1990's and uaually found the fall show to be a little better. Haven't lived in Californis since 1999 so I haven't gone since..Spring or fall I thought it was a nice show and always glad I went.
 
Are you talking about Old Threshers Reunion at Mt Pleasant, IA. If so, it is on the web as running from Sep 1-5, 2016.
 
I hear the one in Rollag MN is awful impressive too. I think it's labor day weekend. There is also one in Albert City IA that I've never been to.
 
Yes, Labor Day weekend. Many others in MN in July/Aug. Gathering of the Orange in Hutchinson, July 22-24.
 
The Mt. Pleasant show is not a very good tractor show. Mainly just line them up and leave then set until the once a day parade. The show is built to show case the steam era so the saw mill, trains, and steam engines are the focus. I have gone twice in the last 3-5 years. This last year was a real let down for me. It was a Saturday and there was NOTHING tractor related going on. We actually left at a little after 2 PM.

So IF your interested in steam power then by all means go it does show case that. If your a tractor guy then I think you maybe disappointed.
 
I took my tractor to the one in Mount Pleasant last year and was disappointed. There are LOTS of tractors, but there is not much to do with them. There is one parade per day with all the steamers and tractors, it takes about 2 hours for every one to go through. No one seems to stay by there tractors, so it is hard to talk with them. It would be much more fun if they broke it into different showings and parades for different classifications.

I will not go back.
