Model T Ford transmission.

Did a Model T ford ever have a 'manual' transmission? or was the planetarythe only one? I saw a 1 or 1 1/2 ton Modle T (TT?) in a movie yesterday and got to wondering. Thanks. Steve

Model T had only the two speed planetary, but some Model TT trucks had a two speed Ruxtall axle with a manual shift lever. Think I'm right on this, but I've been wrong before.

When I was growing up in the 60's and 70's, my late Uncle had a partially-restored 1926 Coupe with a Ruckstel 2-speed rear axle.

You're right. We had one when I was a little kid. The regular T two speed planetary, plus an extra lever for the Ruxtell two speed rear axle.

Someone may have seen the lever for the Ruxtell axle and thought it was a different transmission.

The parts and things that were made for the Ts would dwarf almost anything made for later(50s-60s-70s) cars-trucks.OHV heads, different trans, rear axles,SPEED PARTS that would make a Chev.man envious.80-90MPH Ts.plus the loads(2-4Ton)on the T pickups and more on the TTs.We are nothing today what they did in 1910 to 1932 with their cars-trucks.

Yeah, there are a lot of Warford transmissions out there, I've got a couple of trucks that have them, one has the Warford and a Lincoln (no relation to Ford-Lincoln) two-speed rear axle.
