OT The Screw Up Fairy Came to Visit

For Christmas I received a 50' retractable air hose reel and a 50' retractable electric cord from my daughters. I mounted them on the shelf upright by the door so I can use them inside or outside. The air reel didn't want to retract without help, so I e-mailed the company and received a reply with directions to tighten the spring. Yesterday after work, the weather was decent, so I took the air hose reel down and took it apart and tightened up the spring and put it back together and it works like it should. GREAT!!! I was getting cold, so I said that's enough for today and as I was ready to leave the shop, I hit the closer button and a few seconds later there was a loud bang and something hit the floor. The electric reel had been in the way hooking the air line back up and I pushed the electric reel out into the open door and forgot to turn it back inside when I was done. The door hit it and knocked it out of it's hanger and broke both pins that it turns on off. So I came in and e-mail the company again and told them I needed to buy new pins for the electric reel. It would probably be a good idea to relocate it when I get the parts to fix it. I started out with one needing fixed and ended up with one needing fixed, so I guess I broke even for the day. Chris

There are days I wish I would have broke even for the day....

But yea, I guess you would want to find a different location that can't swing in the way of the door.

I was expecting to hear with the stronger spring, you pulled the hose out and it pulled your shelf over......

Is that one of those Flex Zilla hoses (or something like that)? That was the best purchase I ever made. I have never had a hose just as pliable at zero as it is at 100 degrees. They are just awesome. Very durable as well.

I mounted mine a couple feet from the service door, and about five feet from the track door. It didn"t come hinged, so I made one in the mounting.
