I have an Ford 801 Powerwagon, Gas Burner, what I think is the serial number is preceded with a diamond shape stamped, and followed by a diamond shape stamped. serial number 124373.
any information would be great. year model, horse power and such. thanks in advance for your help.

I think you mean power master instead of wagon.
That serial number would make it a 1960.
Model number should be stamped right above that number.
The three digit model number helps tell what transmission
is in it, whether or not it had live PTO, etc.
If you can't find that number, what transmission does it have?
That will at least narrow it down some.

Dodge made a Powerwagon truck but I would think your ford tractor would be a Powermaster, 801 series. Above that number should be the model number stamped in, a 3 digit number, which would tell you a few things about the tractor as it was built, given the age, sometimes they can be a mix of more than one tractor. This model was slightly over 45 HP, seems they increased fuel on the '01 series and the HP was increased a little more. I always thought the diamond stamped on either side of the serial number meant the 172 4 cylinder ford engine was a sleeved engine, I could be wrong. That and they were not sleeved later on after the hundred series, yours being an 801 series that could mean it may have an earlier engine.

"it has a 4 speed trans"

That narrows it down to 821, 831 or 841 if original.
The lower models could have options added.
PTO behind the four speed would be transmission driven non-live.
Clutch has to be up for it to run.
Most of mine are that way. Fords, Farmalls et al.

Looks like 8N1 is stamped above the SN Number. not sure about middle number of the three. Has 4 speed trans, with a PTO. Number on trans area, is 310835. OE2; is blow that. B9NN6015B is on motor block.

Don't know how true it is but years ago I read where all the 4 cylinder engines used in tractors had sleeves but that same engine built for other uses the block was made to use same pistons but without sleeves. And starting with the Blue tractors they did not have sleeves, had to have one bored for a sleeve.
