Stuck diesel

Can I, how hard is it to get a diesel unstuck? Wd45 allis. Should I pull the head and soak? Take engin out and flip over and soak? Thanks Dale

There are varing 'degrees' of "stuck". Lightly stuck a bit of "magic snake oil" will do the job, sometimes with out pulling the head. More major stuck will require the whole engine out and beat/press the pistons out.Not knowing(or seeing) how bad is pretty hard to say from here. More than likely however,a major Overhaul(new pistons/sleeves......) will be in order.

diesels are tufer to unstick than gassers ,.. if it were mine , get some lucas upper cylinder lubricate , atf fluid , pb blaster , wd 40 ,brake fluid, diesel fuel , ect ,../ I would pull ALL INJECTORS, and put some witches brew in them ,, hike up a rear wheel and stik the tranny in hi gear ,,. and rock and roll that wheel every day for about 5 minutes ,,. fill up the cylinders each day., , if no good results in a month ,, take her down ,.

The only engines I would try to start after being stuck are ones that I don't really care if it goes bang and I have to start over. I would pull the head and go from there. At least then you can see what is going on. Need to check the valves and anything else that may be siezed up also.

Pull the injector pump off before you try to turn it over...if it is stuck too it will lead to more $$$$ if you don't.

This is what would do pull injectors add atf to cylinders soak for a week.Pull starter put bar on flywheel teeth try to move both ways.If it dose not move tare it down traper

Could it be something different than stuck pistons? Things like crank bearings, timing gear or valves? I think I would check for those things first. Even a stuck clutch.

Those people who think some snake oil and a prybar will restore a stuck engine to factory fresh performance are overly optimistic.
The tractor was parked for a reason or otherwise it would still be operating.
Unless you want to bend a rod, a bend a push rod, break a rocker arm etc. Invest in a gasket set and take the engine apart for cleaning and inspection. You WILL find something nasty in there which jammed the engine to a halt.
It's not like a gasket set is expensive compared to broken parts.
