Weather forecast???

Was on the way home from an auction at about 2pm and heard this forecast from a Cedar Rapids radio station.

Todays high will be about 10 degrees and tomorrow will be colder with a chance we will not get above freezing with wind chills to -30. etc etc

And the current temp is 17 degrees. Huhhh

What about the predicted high of 10 degrees.

They can't even correct the prediction in there report of the weather.

They get the chill factor mixed wwith air temp so much they dont even know what they are saying half the time to busy worrying about temp in CR being 2deg colder than in Ia City

I am back to the cold from Oklahoma.

I painted the MH44 bracket outside today, got the metal and paint warm, did it quick and brought everything back in.

I was in St Cloud one cold morning about 8 years ago with the semi to unload. -32 the thermometer said. Turned to pull up to the loading dock and the red air hose to the trailer shattered. Had to dolly down in the cold and go to the Freightliner dealer to get a new plastic air line. Oh the joys of trucking.

I spent a few days working in Alexandria, between St Cloud and Fargo a few years ago. I think the temperatures were -35 during the night and -10 highs for the day. I shut my truck off the first night and did not get it started until middle of the afternoon, left it running the next 3 days until I went home.

They got ours right. All week talking of what a cold weekend it was going to be. -23 or so when I got up this morning. Talk of wind chill factors in the -40 range . Same again tomorrow.

I don't know what they are doing sometimes. They like to predict the worst possible scenario. It makes for more dramatic news, I guess. A couple of weeks ago they were predicting us to have up to 4" of snow, it never got below 40 degrees and hardly clouded up. Other than the week of floods this has been a pretty nice winter. We have only been down to 10 degrees once and mostly have stayed above freezing.

LOL I'm about 35 miles north of Alex. -15F right now 11:10 PM.

It does get a bit chilly here sometimes.

The one on my iPhone seems to be incredibly accurate. In conjunction with the moving weather radar map you can "see" the weather.
