Pneumonia problems are you seeing it??

pneumonia Any of you seeing it go rampit in your area? Wife is down for 2-3 times this winter. Dr. office said its the daily grind. Seems if you get a cold it turns to it or one of its brothers. Some people end up in hospital.

I had a pneumonia shot 4 or 5 years ago at the urging of my Dr. I have had it 3 or 4 times way back in my youth and don't want it ever again.

I got the Prevnar-13 shot last year.Back in 93 I had walking pneumonia .Got my first shot the next year.I haven't even had a bad chest cold since.
Shingle shot coming pretty quick too.

Wife is just getting over it and she did have the shot. A lot of people here are battling colds or worse.

Wife is on the second go around since Sept. I spent all of Xmas in bed and when the clinic had an opening on the Tues. after they scolded me for not coming in sooner. I told her my chest was tight and I was tired of coughing. She sent me home with meds for strep throat. I do so love going to the doctor! Since Dr. Brandy and Dr. Schnapps have been treating me and I seem to be gaining and sleeping better on top of it. This scenario reminds me of Granny Clampet's 7 day miracle cure.

[just got over a bad cold, tea spoon honey, 1/2 tea cinnamon little lemon juice, hot whisky twice a day, lots of rest.

Had it in September just after I finished some treatments for leukemia; spent 5 days in the hospital. I'm still weak and coughing up phlegm. Doc said at my age and condition it may take me 6 months to get over it. Being super careful not to catch it again. Had the shot 1-1/2 years ago, but my immune system was so weakened by the treatments that I caught a bad case of it.

My late wife had health issues, heart, lungs, kidneys. After she got Pneumonia the first time she would get it all the time. Raising calfs as a kid, it could tell when they got Pneumonia. You can hear a bubbling sound when they breath. I could tell she had Pneumonia when she was sleeping. I would tell her to see the Dr. I was right each time she had Pneumonia.

I'm 67, never got a flu shot, never got pneumonia. Haven't seen anyone I know who has it either.

The Prevnar-13 is only one of the shots. There is another that acts as an update. Go hit the doctors and get BOTH. While you are at it also get the one for shingles. All of these are really rough and preventable.

You can't get both at same time. They make you wait a month between the pneumonia and shingle shot . Wife went through that last fall.

Yes, we have a lot around here. (southern NH). I am just finally getting over sinusitis. It took three runs of two weeks of antibiotic. There is nothing like sinus irrigation for preventing many respiratory problems.

Three or four years ago I had a flu shot, the earlier pneumonia shot, and a shingle shot all at the same time. Never had any problems. This past December I had the Prevnar 13 shot. I've been lucky I guess---never had pneumonia and can't remember the last time I had a cold.
