Hi folks, first let me say I'm not too familiar with this forum and if this 1980 Kubota doesn't really fit with what the site is about, I don't mind to take the post down.

I'm trying to find a tough, reliable, versatile, maneuverable used tractor in the $8,000 to $13,000 range. It'll be transported to a few sites ranging from 2 to 8 acres for industrial hemp farming in Appalachia (eastern KY), mostly working on rich bottomland soil but occasionally doing light duty on rocky compacted reclaimed mined land. I'm hoping for 60-80 engine hp, 4wd, loader, and at least ROPS. Subsoiling, discing, rototilling, planting (drill and broadcast), loading and spreading manure, and sickle bar mowing will probably be its main duties.

I've been trolling around the used equipment sites for a few weeks and I think I just stumbled onto a good deal but I'd like a quick reality check if you don't mind. I found a Kubota M7500 (81 hp engine, 72 hp PTO) with lowish hours (low 2000s), 4wd, loader, ROPS, and apparently no mechanical problems for $8,900. Talked to a nearby Kubota dealer and they said it'd be no problem to get parts for it and work on it.

Can anyone give me a sense of whether this is a good price, and if this is a good reliable-ish tractor for the work we're trying to do? Thanks a lot

i paid just shy of that for a L3600 a 1994 model with a loader and 4wd assit 40hp
so that sounds like a good deal if everything is sound.

It would have to be beat up bad for that price to be right. That price is $4-6K low for on in good shape with MFWD and a loader. Looked it up on Tractorhouse and noticed they have ZERO pictures of it up. So I would bet it does not look too good.

Go look at it in person and if it is not beat too bad then it is a good price for what your getting.

I was Kubota dealer when that tractor was sold new. No real problems in fact a pretty tough tractor. It does have a DRY clutch which is always a problem with loader tractors. I would check the clutch free play and adjustment. At that time Kubota was outsourcing their loaders from GREAT BEND which was latter sold to Bush Hog and then kind of became an orphan but valve parts are available so really no problem there. I am like JD seller really has to have worn tires, beat up or some problem or they just do not know what they have. I think the tractor would go thru Idiabell auction and bring that kind of money. Check it out and get back to us.
If you get it first thing to do is drain and service the front wheel drive hubs, most folks never look at that oil.

Sounds OK. Guys came through here a few
years back. Was hauling a nice 3020 JD.
Looking to rent small patches. That
happened to be on small roads. Planted
corn. Feds raided his corn field. Lo and
behold he had pot in his corn. But they
just found one field. And never caught
him.

It doesn't have the deals anymore and the hour meter stopped working around 1800, the farmer that traded it in said it had low 2000s and was only used for moving hay bales around but they don't really have a way to determine how true that is. They say everything works just as it should, unfortunately it's 4.5 hours away so I can't easily run over to check it out. We're going down there with a trailer and check in hand most likely Friday. I definitely appreciate all of yourall's feedback, hopefully we get a decent tractor!
