Ad for good running Oliver engine

Saw this ad in our local classifieds. Looks like a fresh oil filter? What do you guys think? Wonder if he can provide maintenance records?

Must not have a radiator either; hoses are loose. Hasn't run for a while, judging by the rust on the inside of the crank pulley. Could still be a good one though.

The hole in the block is on the other side??? (chuckle)

I'd buy that motor with the notion it is going to need a stem to stern rebuild.

I think you only have so many choices when you're shopping for a 50's vintage Oliver tractor engine. It looks complete to me. I would buy it if I needed it. Can't buy a new one from Walmart that was made in China so you have to take what you get.

Randy, There is a 2-63 that a guy is advertising $2500 for the whole tractor with loader or $1000 for the engine. He said it runs good and I think that is the same as 1550 engine. It has reverse-O-torc so it would need a flywheel for ag tractor. He wants $500 for injection pump and injectors. I don't know the guy or the tractor just thought I'd share.

There's a TLB on CL here too,but it doesn't say what model it is and there's no picture. It just says 1968 Oliver-White. They want $3500. Hard to say if that's good or bad without knowing just what it is.

I like how next summer he may get it running and sell if "fo more" lol probably says it just like he types!

That thing was for sale a year and a half ago, with same exact description lol. It does actually exist, it is in Montcalm a couple miles west of the county line and I think 4 north of M46. I don't remember what model is was, but it was based on a 1600-1650, and has a shuttle type trans. Funny he still hasn't figured out how to bleed it, sounds fishy.

Last spring I looked at a Ford 801 that leaked oil from the filter where it was rusted through. It had no hydraulics, no sheet metal poor tires, the only thing going for it was it had part of an Elenco with it. The Elenco had no drive shaft and two broken axles. I offered him $500.00. Someone gave him $1200 for it though.
