whenever i turn on the tractor the 3 pt hitch atomically lifts up with the lever all the way down...ive tried everything i can think of and nothing....then when i shut tractor off the hitch stays up but will make its way down on its own slowley with time...plz help

what i didnt say was i cant get the hitch to come down only when i shut it off??? any suggestions??

The control valve in the hyd. pump is stuck in the up position. this unit is in the bottom of tractor belly; very subject to water/moisture, even frozen water for that matter. the control lever is not direct connected, so that can fool a person. check trans fluid for milky look. if settin for some time above freezing, you can also crack the drain plug slowly, water will be on bottom. to 'unstick' that valve is sometimes possible by going thru RH port, BUT here is where you need manual if you have never been there.

ok sounds good i will try this??? where can i find the RH port??? is it behind the cover where the dip stick is???

it was already low on gear oil im thinking?? so i toped it up on the big cap that sits on top of the transmission...is this the proper place to put the gear oil or was wrong in doing this??......also if anyone has any pictures to show me where the RH port is or anything that might help or know of any good sites that do..this would be great help...

Yes RH 'cover' --where the dipstick is. you usually have 'response' lever on it. after removed, you can see your control lever move, but it won't be contacting the roller on the lower linkage--cause its stuck full up. you might be able to move lower linkage to free it up. pitfalls are, response piston falling out cause assembly wire broke, installing cover.

Google Agco Parts Book, if your in the USA you should be able to sign in as a guest. If it won't let you, you will have to see your local Agco dealer to get a password to access the site. Search for your model and brand of tractor for the complete parts break down of your tractor..

jo bird-- thanks for the reminder! I had tried sometime back, & couldn't log in without dealer id. just tried as guest--all good-- must have caught computer in bad mood.
