Tractor people are football fans to

Alabama sure looked tough as it steam-rolled Michigan State, but Clemson was no slouch in its game, either. Should be a great game. I'm thinking 'Bama by 3, in a "last team to score" affair.

I am from Michigan----That game last night was a real Kicking put on M S U...............
THAT BAMA could beat some NFL teams.................

My 2 cents is that if Clemson is gonna beat Ala. They will have to learn more about consistent, driving defense can do and to bone up a bit on historical pride and training that has put Ala in the finals several times to Clemson's first in . . .how long? Where I live, Clemson is the odds on favorite.

Since my wife graduated from there, and my brother despises them, I have to say Clemson, or as we say it ClemPson. (My brother forked over thousands for his daughter to go to Carolina instead of letting her accept a scholarship to Clemson.) I don't like football, but have no problems with those who do, but after several embarrassments in the past, Clemson will lose.

I'm confused. I came to this forum to talk and read about the subject upon which the forum is based. Not about football, basketball, jockey, golf, bowling, baseball, or any other professional sport.

Given that there are probably HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of sports forums related to any type of sport that exists, why must we discuss that here??? Most every other "off topic" discussion on this forum bear some relationship to some aspect of tractors or farming.

I personally have NO RESPECT for professional athletes. They are overpaid crybabies in my opinion. Many of them are basically street thugs that got a lucky break. Patronizing them only puts more money in their pockets so that they can buy their way out of the trouble that they get into by being who they really are. Granted there are exceptions, but for the most part these guys would be in prison otherwise.

AND THE REST OF THE Story // If there is a post you do not like you sure do not have to read it. This thing has got were folks ask questions about hot water heaters, boats, there love life just about anything so I see no problem with foot ball.

First, please do not tell me what to read or not read. That is not your place or concern.

Second, there is a time and place for every discussion. This is NOT the place for football.

Third, other topics come up because we all discuss these things as a community. Water heaters, personal relationships, trespassers, car repairs all have something to do with farm/country life if only on a shirt tail way. Football does not. There are HUNDREDS OF PLACES to talk about football. Why here?????????

Well I don't really care that much for sports or sports talk we do talk about a lot of things here from people trying to push their brand of religion to the music they like. That is no different than talking about sports IMO.

With that being said, I really don't care who wins.

Jim just took a quick peak: Lets see, "todays funny" "today in history" "cars broke" and "covered bridges" have as much of a place as sports as I see it. We cut this board down to only what you want to read and comment on this is going to get very boring very fast!

OT I guess I came across a little strong and I do not know the guy but that was my point. After the years this thing has become a discussion of just about what ever. I don,t car for talking guns but I never whine when someone ask or post a gun question, just skip it and go on and for him to say FOOTBALL does not belong on here, just happens there are a lot of folks on here that probably played football when they were young or at least still might watch it ever now and then. Anyway what will be will be.. Happy New Year and TENNESSEE just wiped the devil out of Northwestern who ever that is . LOL

Of course you are entitled to your opinion but if all that was discussed here is antique tractors this site would die. I go to the coop to buy fertilizer, feed and chemicals. I don't get bent out of shape if someone wants to talk about sports there. If I'm uninterested I simply get what I want and leave. The same goes here. A one dimensional life is very boring.
That being said, I really don't care who wins as long as it is played fairly. I don't care for football as much as I did when I was younger.

Another "nobody cares". If sports was such a big deal, the "big game" would decide who was best and they'd never have to play another game. Yet there will be another "big game" next year because it's all about sucking money out of the fans.

Their is an off topic forum here, and I really don't mind most of the threads, however as quite a few of you guys have pointed out, this forum has strayed a bit from being a true tractor forum. If I did not like and want to learn about tractors I would not be on here now. To open a can of worms I have had the opinion for quite a spell that instead of Yesterday tractors being one big community that we have became very much a group of small towns, and it seems no one wants to invade or for that matter leave their comfort zone, that being their favorite forums. It seems to me that this fine website has a forum pertaining to all forms of country life and quite a bit for city life for that matter. If discussions were posted where they should be we would not be having this discussion now.

Very well said. You hit the nail square on it's head.

Much as I dislike Bama, I graduated from Auburn which is known as the tractor school in Alabama, Bama will put Clemson in their place. No contest.

There was a movie called "In The Heat Of The Night". Pretty sure that it took place in Alabama, not certain. Below is a short clip from the movie...Alabama. But in several scenes throughout the movie there was a Farmall dealership prominently featured, and in one scene a Deere working in the field, and in a couple, a Caterpillar. Lots of nice big red iron, some green, some yellow in Alabama. That being said, I'm sure that Bear Bryant is rolling in his grave that you even asked. But since you brought it up and I'm not real far from Notre Dame, Ohio State cleaned their clocks and I'm happy. Happier when Bama does the same.

Mark
50 second mark Farmall, 1:20 mark John Deere

Same team that won the last 4 years, North Dakota State University. You see, the div I FCS has had a real playoffs for many years, not like the FBS with their 4 team "playoffs".

I don't know and don't care I just want to see a good feet ball game with lot's of scoring...

My son played division one baseball they played most of the top tier ACC teams over his four years. Regular season UNC and NCSU would draw 1 to 2 hundred and they were national ranked in the top 10. One year UNC ranked #1 and State #3 State probably paid most to show up the dirtiest nasty bunch of loud mouths I have ever been around... ,,, When we went to Clemson it was a sell out every day  I never seen so many old folks in one place in my whole life. ell they rolled them in in wheel chairs season ticket holders with the choice seats.

Of all the places I have been to see a sporting event Clemson was the best.
