NOT SURE WHAT I HAVE

What I DO HAVE IS A NEW TO ME 1971 IH826D This tractor has no shut off cable, and I believe it came from the factory this way. There is a steel pipe down by my left knee that is empty, there is no bracket on the pump for a cable. The shut off arm is there.I start it by moving the throttle arm about a half inch past the pin,and it starts fine .To stop it I move the arm down past the pin,and it stops. Would this be a BR or a CR pump? It has a coolant filter on it that looks factory, was that a option or would it be after market.
Thanks for any info.

That's how they were made. Our old 856 and 966
shut off that way. Sometimes you had to throttle
them up and then take it all the way to the stop
because the cable wasn't just right and it wouldn't
shut off. My 886 does the exact same thing also
except the throttle set up is a little bit better.

IH had the throttle stop since the 06 series was introduced with the exception of the 756. soon after the 86 series was
introduced it was discovered that a chemical reaction was causing the wet sleeves to pit so a coolant kit was put on to
stop this and was retofited to the 66 and 26 series tractors . As for the pipe it could be a cane or fork holder or
maybe part of an old heathauser.

Don this pipe is small less than 1/4 inch id,I think it's where the shutt off cable is on some tractors. So your saying the coolant kit could have been factory installed?
Thanks for your reply.

the coolant kit would have been dealer installed on the 26 and 66 series as they were older than the 86 series i put
the one on my dads 1086 myself i think IH supplied the kit and the owner had to pay the labor i know my dad would never
spend the money on something like that . as for the pipe i guess i cant say i know the 756 had an engine that was in
the same family as the 826 and they had a cable shut off maybe the pump was changed to one that used a throttle shutoff
