Hey everyone my granddad bought a 53-54 farmall super A1 new, and used it on a 2 acre garden its whole life. I am now the owner of asmall farm and this Farmall i have a woods belly mower i bought the gentleman said it was used on his 54 super A but i cannot figure out how my tractor does not have any pulleys on the rear near the PTO to hook it up to and i cannot find any information to pinpoint the type of woods mower this is. Any help would be great.

I have a Woods L59 mounted on my 1949 Super A. I bought the tractor first then bought a new mower deck for it. I had to take the flat belt pulley off the tractor and then put a V pulley about 10" diameter on in place of it. The V pulley came with the mower deck. There are two idler pulleys on the mounting frame that goes on the tractor and the mower deck mounts to that frame. My mower deck has three blades and is about 5 feet wide. I'll try to get some pictures tomorrow

You must not have got the drive system with the mower. You need the assy that bolts to the finals and has the two idlers and place for the deck to attach. Get with owner you got it from cause if he had it on his tractor he should have the mount and pulley it takes to mount and run the mower. Is it a WOODS or some other brand as you didnt say the brand.

It can be a job to find it, but in the Woods website there are manuals, with pictures. I have a few pieces here for mounting a Woods mower on a Farmall, but I'm not sure which tractor.

I suggest you first go to Woods and request a manual. I think they still provide free downloads for manuals. Or, give them a call.

These photos might help. I took them to help me remember how the belt was routed, but maybe you can see how this particular rig is set up. This is on a modified B farmall, but the A shares many feaures. The belt pulley attachment runs a v belt pulley. In the first photo you can see the pto shaft and just barely see the bottom rim of the drive pulley. The mower is an L59 with three blades and discharges to the right. Let me know if you need more photos. like Bob B. Said, the woods site has tons of diagrams, and many parts are still available.

I do the same thing someone else posted. I always take pictures of things before I tear them apart. Here are some I had on my phone. They are a little different angle than the ones you see. Mine is on a regular A not a super.
