O/T - who made it?

Retired bachelor who I rent land from has a number of old vehicles sitting in the weeds along with his equipment. Most I can identify, but one has me stumped. It appears to be an early to mid '50's model. Reads 'Clipper' on the hood, and 'Clipper Custom' (I think) on the trunk lid. Anyone know the maker? There's also a big sedan, probably a '70's model, or maybe late '60's. I remember his Dad driving that one. A 'Centurian', I think. Buick?

Buick also made a Centurion, although it was in the early 70's. It was a full size car about like the 88 series. Dad had one for about 5 years

As usual, quick replies and good information.
Now, I just wish I could get someone who'd be interested in it to convince him to sell it. I hate to see things just sitting out, slowly rusting away. Besides the Clipper and Centurion, there's also a mid-'60's Ford Falcon, and a late '60's and late '80's GMC half-tons. His newest pickup, Chevy Impala, Lincoln Mk VII, and '70's Buick with a 455 are at least inside his garage and shed, along with his tractors.

If my cell phone cooperates and lets me use the camera, I'll take some pictures this afternoon - I'm hauling manure there, and will drive right past them.

Packard did NOT "go bust!" The worst automotive merger in the entire history of the automobile industry happened in 1954 when Packard bought Studebaker. Packard had plenty of cash on hand, and were a solvent company. Studebaker was drowning in red ink. Packard acquired Studebaker because they were too heavily invested in the upscale luxury car business. They wanted to add a more "blue collar" car line to their offerings to attract younger buyers. Somewhere along the line, the big shots decided to move the manufacturing to the Studebaker product. Due to a recession in 1958, the Packard name was dropped as a car line. Studebaker-Packard corporation continued on into the 1960s when Studebaker finally ran out of Packard money and their own poor business practices caught up with them.

A couple of good things did come out of it all....The "Hawk" and the "Avanti".
