Follow up on floods

Found the 2 mini horses. Finally got in the chicken houses and found 6 or 7 birds dead. Found one dead goat so still have 3 missing. Horse barn need to be rebuilt as the front wall is pushed in badly and broken windows. The complete chicken pen need to be re-fenced.

Sounds like a mess! Sorry about the problems this is causing you and others.

Not as bad as I thought, but if it flooded the home, it would have been more horrible. Glad all is not lost. If the goat was for meat, that is no longer a wait to get bigger issue. Jim

Mother nature has different ways to let us know that she is still in charge-like it or not.Glad to hear that some things are comeing together for you,but will still take a lot of time to put things back as they were. Thinking of you. Sure wish that I could be there to help.

Sorry for your loss Rich, I hope things get better for you, I saw on the weather channel today pics of Springfield MO, I think it was?? dont know how far you are from there, but cars in parking lots had water half way up there doors. Good luck to you.

Springfield is about 75 miles south west of me but yep saw that last night but TV is out today and probably will be till Wednesday if I am lucky

Hang in there, if you check out ireane floods middleburg NY, that's what we had in August 2011 I'm about 20 miles from there, we had 10" of rain it was a mess, I'm lucky I life on top of a mountian at 1400 some odd feet. I don't know if I can post the pics as they said they were copyright

The weather channel just said the rivers around carthage Mo are 10ft above flood stage.

Hope the other goats turn up ok.

Do you have a creek near your house or is it a backed up waterway? This area had unusual flooding in localized areas from that first big rain back in October. Today we only got .6 and the ditches and creeks are full.

One side of my land has what is known as the Dry Glaize creed running down it. Most of the time if you put a boat in you would be walking more then paddling

Weather channel is saying bad things about OKC, Kansas City/Springfied...

East Tx can get up to 1" of Ice and the Storm is now moving North...

Batten down the Hatches, this may NOT be over...

Tornado Warnings for North of Shrievport..
But, at least they are saying the storm is heading toward Mississippi/ Ark... National Guard has been called up in New Mexico..

The Storm has reached Chicago and will be dumping snow there...

33 degrees now in Kansas City..
Looks like the "Low" will pass right over Mo. heading North toward Chicago..

I can relate to what you're saying. The top of White Rock Creek cuts across my grandparents place and normally is completely dry most of the year. After the October rains it was out about 300 to 400 feet on each side. With the little bit of rain we got this morning it was running full banks this afternoon. The gov is saying what we got in October was a 100yr event so who knows.

No equipment gone but did get water into the engine of the 8N back hoe so will have to drain it out and spin it over to clear the cylinders etc.

Last 6 or 7 chickens and the worst was the 2 peahens I had just gotten before Christmas that cost me $50
