A cattle first for me

The peanut gallery is always a big help, so...

I worked cattle yesterday and saw something a
haven't ever had. One of my 800 pound new heifers
is bald around her eyes. The right eye is just a little,
but the left eye is bald about the size of a softball.
She's not blind - if it were pinkeye it would have
been bad enough to blind her. I think I've seen this
before but I don't recall what. Is it a deficiency?

It might be a copper deficiency. Get a blood test. I do not think I have seen ring worm when it is cold. I assume it is cold where you are?

Girlfriend insists ring worm, even in the cold. Yes, it is usually passed by flies. Perhaps he was rubbing on something?

Sounds like ring worm to me. Put some used oil on a rag and wipe that on it. It has to be used oil,new oil won't work.

Ringworm will cause exactly what you describe. It will go thru a cycle and disappear

If it is ring worm, be careful, you can catch it too. I have had it about a half dozen times, and not real pleasant .

5 or 6 times a day apply full-strength apple cider vinegar for ringworm.
