O.T 2006 F150 tailgate

The tailgate on my f150 opens difficultly sometimes..have to lift latch to full position and does not unlatch at times I have to hit top of tailgate to open and I lubed every possible point..any input would be great.

check the linkage.
if it is like my 2000 Silverado the plastic bushings could be worn.

You might see if there is a plastic bushing on the tailgate hinge. My Dodge has those. I lost one when I took my tail gate off and didn't realize it at the time. The gate just didn't fit right and opened weird. I found the missing bushing in the bushes, no pun intended.... You might see if yours is worn out or missing.

Update: I took cover off (8 bolts)there were adjustment rods in there that were in plastic clips..simple adjustment works perfect..
