Tractor Registration

How many of you have registered your tractors on the registry section of this site?

I have entered all of mine.

I have some registered but will do more when I remember to get the serial numbers. Thanks for reminding me.

I was afraid to register them, you never know when the government may want to take them away to give them to needy farmers.

not me, i try to not register tools, equipment and firearms in any public place , what i have and where is my own business, that being said i do have every serial number in my own files, just incase something sprouts legs

I have almost all of mine, my dad's, and some of our farming tractors. Haven't added any procured in the last year yet. Usually do it every year or so. Probably have 5 or so more to add.

David what does registrations gain you??? I am really asking as I never even knew we could "register" our tractors. So I can say with 100% certainty that none of mine are registered.

I like to look at the other antiques out there and see what they have done, pictures can be added too.

The way I see it, it could be helpful to people looking for a lost family tractor, just to find out where it is. As I have gave up looking for the JD G and JD A's my dad started farming with. Now, there is probably 30-40 tractors between our 2 farms. I live at one, dad lives at the other. If anyone would like to attempt to steal a tractor, they are more than welcome to try it.

I don't see a problem with it, all of mine are listed on here. I think it would be interesting to bump into someone on here with a serial number close to one of mine just to see where they are from and the life their tractor has lived. I doubt there are many tractor thieves around my area that browse the serial number registry on this site hoping to find my location to steal one from my collection, and if they do so be it, they'll find out in a hurry what else I collect that is NOT on a registry.

I don't think paranoia has anything to do with it Dave.A lot of things are better left unsaid and kept private. There are things posted on here every day that myself and others won't or would not even discuss with our wifes-husbands or family, let alone the world. Maybe privacy is a bad thing but it seems better then telling the world your business.

I have registered several of mine, not all cause i have forgot about it. I always thought it would be cool to see where the serial number before and after could be. If i had someones great granddads tractor and that person wanted to see it i would be more than happy to show them or tell them how i found it.

I also nerd out cause i have a spreadsheet that has 1 tab per tractor, contains serial number, purchase price, who and where i bought it from, day i bought it, tire sizes, and any repairs i have done and its price. When mother deere had build date information at the pavillion for free, i put in all my serial numbers and took a picture of the screen, that information is also on my spreadsheet.

I update that spreadsheet and push it to my phone cause i am always looking for sequential serial number tractors at auctions, and i have 1 tab just for tire sizes so when it comes to tired on auctions, i know for sure if i need that size instead of guessing and relying on a memory that seems to fade a bit more everyday..
