Well took two days off work to burn up a couple of vacation days before the end of year! Was hoping for four days of wrench pulling on my tractors getting ready for spring and wound of sick and felt like total crap the whole time! Just my luck!

I worked with a guy that took a few vacation days and wound up being sick during his whole time off. Can you believe he had the gall when he returned to work to request his vacations days he used, to be converted to sick days cause he was sick instead of being on vacation. This was in the 1980's.

He was denied his request.

When I was 35 (nearly 20 years ago) I was teaching English comp at two JCs and running a small branch library for a tech college. When Christmas break came I felt bad enough to go to the Doc. I was diagnosed with chicken pox and spent Christmas and New Years alone, ill, and with little heat and no TV. They say it hits us harder when we are old. I do not know, but I know it wasn't any fun.

For years,Dad used to get a headache every Saturday. It would usually set in by noon. Made him so sick he couldn't do anything the rest of the day,so he couldn't even get anything done on weekends. He tried drinking as much coffee on Saturdays as he did at work weekdays,getting up as early,the works. Nothing seemed to help.

What did he do on Friday night? My dad had the same problem, but it was the self inflicted verity.

Back in 74 when I was still single, I wrecked my motorcycle on a Friday night before a weeks vacation. Two other guys from work were going on a ride with me. They cancelled all our vacation per our request. I spent the whole week in the hospital. My boss even came to visit me. We ended up going on vacation about 2 months later.

Called "cluster migraine. Reoccurs on a set schedule. I had them over a period of ten years. %:30 pm to 10:00 pm for 2-3 weeks. Then gone for 5-6 months.

So much for getting anything accomplished
