this old brooder house is down the road from us. I was talking to the owner of it,and he told me some history of it.It came from a farm two houses up the road. The owner of it was going to tear it down. The neighbor that owns it now,,told him I ll give you 100 dollars for it if you move it to my place. Now he told me some history. It was a kit building, sold at a local mill. When you bought chicks, you were able to buy this building kit. The walls are filled with sawdust for insulation. It was very interesting to hear this story.i learn something new everytime I stop and see this man.If you remember the story of the firewood pile and a sad man waiting for his grandchildren to stop by and help him stack wood,,this is the same man,I couldnt help but think what his grandchildren are missing out on.They never come to see him, always busy with sports.

Yes Larry his grand kids are missing out. I know the majority of my family history from talking to my Grand and Great Grand parents. I loved to visit them.

There was a building the same shape and size on a neighbor's farm. He used it as his tool shed as he didn't have a shop or garage. After the guy sold the farm, the house was moved away and the rest of the buildings bulldozed into a pile and burned so the farmyard could be farmed.

Sports seems to be more important than history which is the basics. Sports have two constants, winners and losers but like in life, there seems to be more losers and increasing every day.

(quoted from post at 23:40:07 12/13/15) There was a building the same shape and size on a neighbor's farm. He used it as his tool shed as he didn't have a shop or garage. Makes me pucker every time I see this happen.

Walls filled with sawdust.
Sure seems like that would be a bug magnet.

I know I missed a lot in my youth.
Both my grandfathers were dead by the time I was 1 year old.
But I did learn a lot from my dad.

I did have 1 of my sons tell his mom about 4 years ago when he was 30.
I sure wish I could have understood in my youth that dad was trying to teach me when he made me do things I did not understand rather than thinking he was just forcing me to do chores. I might have slowed down and paid more attention rather than just rushing threw it.

When I was young, we had two chicken houses built in that same shape on our farm. I would guess that they were built by a local lumberyard.
