ford 8n and mower

so i saw a video of a ford 8n pulling a 15' mower I was wondering if someone could tell me how big of a mower the 8n can pull cause I mow fields with a 4' and need a bigger one so will a 15' work?

Would it even pull that big of a gang of reel mowers? They take power also. I might be concerned with traction, especially if it had turf tires.

There used to be a commercial on TV that showed, in the background, an M Farmall pulling about a 28' wing disc.

Of course, the disc was out of the ground with the wings raised.

What kind of 15' mower was the N pulling?

boys an 8n will pull a 15' batwing if you don't turn the pto on and don't have a big hill to climb, lol.

I'd love to see that video!
5 foot for a rotary mower. 6ft for a finish mower.
The rotary mower will require an over running coupler on the PTO.

If you notice that field is well manicured. If you were trying to mow say 12" of grass that 15' mower would stall an 8N out. I've been in heavy stuff with a Farmall M and a 6 foot mower running about 12HP more than an N (yes I own an 8N too). Something that 6 footer will make the M grunt. I've been in stuff with a 5 footer behind the N and stalled it out. If you need to mower more acres per hour you need to be able to either go faster or use a bigger mower. Take a look at what you are doing and then decide. May be time to get a bigger tractor.

Thanks farmerkid, that's quite an interesting video!
It looks like the mower's actually running and mowing.

I wonder what he uses to lift and fold it?
I can't tell for sure, but I think I see a hydraulic cylinder with
the hydraulic hoses wrapped up on the front of the mower.
