When I posted my Suzuki GT550 project under the "What Is Your Winter Project" thread a while back, there seemed to be some interest, so I thought I'd post a quick update. See the link.
GT550 Project

Looks like you're on the way, Paul. I've a 1973 Yamaha DT-2 250CC Dark Green enduro. I've done some work on it, new tires, brake shoes, painted the front fender, came out nice but I need to do some carb work. I had it running for quite a while and it was really fun, but I gotta keep on it.

I've got two of the three carbs on this thing torn down and cleaned, just waiting on the kits to put them back together.

Got the wrong kits the first time. Turns out the Mikuni VM28SC carbs on a Kawasaki triple are NOT the same as the ones on a Suzuki triple.

And of course, the dinks I got them from won't take returns on carb kits.

Know anybody with a Kawaski H1 500 Triple? "8^(

those old two stroke triples were fast bikes in their tim. buddy of mine had a kawasaki 500 mach III, woo that was a screamer. i had a 69 honda 450. chrome and black. looked like a gangster bike!! did 93 mph wide open. bike bandit dot com has a lot of older bike stuff too.

I had the 3 cylinder 350 kwacker. It would smoke my 340 Demon on the 1/8 mile, but not on the 1/4. A friend had a 750 3 banger. About a gazzilion 500's around at the time. They all went like stink and handled like a deer on wet ice!

Ain't that the truth? And stopped about the same too.

Looks like lot of work ,but will be worth it. I just sold 79 gs1000e project bike, no time . Buddy of mine bikes lot of bikes . He just got done with an old Kaw 750 triple two stroke , these were wicked fast machines .

That thing is sick ! I gotta ride that . Does he want to sell that bike ? I bet you could hear that exhaust for miles .

I've been watching because I want to do something similar. Please keep with the updates.

Thanks.
