OT- Goat on a Dam

I am not one to forward email or funny videos, as I have learned through my work that it can be a way of sending virus to the users. I do not think the pictures in the links will be a problem but be careful what else you click on while on the site. The first link is of Ibex goats on a dam and the second link is a video of the ibex jumping from the top of a mountain. You will see many other pictures and links on the pages, click with caution and DO NOT allow any of these or other sites do an install of Adobe Flash. If you need adobe flash go to the Adobe Site to install. Sites that say they will install the Adobe are a bad virus most of the time.
Now that I have said all that, I was at a customers yesterday and saw a mounted goat, the entire goat on a rock. He said it was an Ibex and told me how they can climb. Showed me these pictures on his phone. When I got home I found them and the video. It did not paste to where you can click on the link, you

How did the first goat learn to do that ?

That's incredible. We have the ruble left from an old square silo in the corner of the barn and we have some stone wall remnants of the old barn still here. some of that stuff is fifteen feet high and jagged. Our goats are always jumping and tearing around that stuff like they were walking on flat ground. The rougher it is and the higher it is, the better they like it.

I watch that and it just does not seem real. The distance looks too great. With money to be made based on the number of hits a video gets, I am wondering if maybe you are getting the (goat) wool pulled over your eyes. Maybe I am wrong.

I agree with Dave. While mtn. goats are extremely agile creatures, the jumping from ledge to ledge without pause is nearly impossible, given the distances and the deceleration forces involved.

Heck, so thats where today's kids got their ideas from!

They have a bunch of names for it, buildering, urban mountain climbing, etc. my link goes to a Wikipedia explanation. You can look up hundreds of youtubes of kids doing it. I won't link to them, don't want to give folks heart attacks as to what their college kids are up to these days!

Been several deaths in the Twin cites the past couple years from it, kids ripping the fence down and climbing old grain elevators from the 1800s. They take it as great sport.

Now the city leaders are looking into how to tax and penalize the property owners for the kids breaking and entering. They figure they should charge the land owner for every emergency call they get for kids breaking and entering..... Sigh.
