Looking for a carb kit for a Marvel Shebler TRX 36

I have a 1945 Massey Harris 101 Sr. It has an F226 Continetal and I think is in need of a carb kit. I didn't run it for a year, and now it only runs at a very high rpm, regardless of throttle position and needs to be 3/4 choked. I'm getting good spark, and I replaced the spark plugs. I took apart the carburetor and needle valves have scratches in them. I can't find a carborator kit anywhere online for the TRX 36. Is there somewhere special I have to go, or is there a similar carburetor I could use parts from?

The symptoms you describe don't necessarily point to a carb problem.

The very high RPM could be a governor problem, or stuck throttle shaft. It could also be a major vacuum
leak. That would also explain the need for the choke.

The needle valve, I assume we're talking about the needle and seat where the fuel comes into the bowl? If
that were bad, the needle would fail to seal and the carb would flood, overflow fuel . Or the needle can
stick in the seat, resulting in no fuel in the bowl, no run at all.

Unless either of these problems are occurring, you may not absolutely need a carb kit, nice but not
necessary if you can clean it up and get it back together with what you have.

Check for vacuum leaks, check the governor linkage, you might get it running easier than you think.

Mine is a '45 model row crop which orignially came with steel wheels. I bought an original book the same age as my tractor, and like the carborator tag it calls for a TRX-36. [/img]
