Indoor Winter Goals

What are your winter goals? While I have made some progress before, my goal for this winter is to play simple songs on the guitar and baritone uke. With some effort I can play, Row Row Row Your Boat, but I'm hoping for much more. I've been getting up an hour earlier to practice. I have wanted to play the guitar all my life.

What are your cabin fever goals?

My goal right now is getting a broken kneecap healed before spring. Maybe trying the guitar would speed things up! :)

Making a wine glass rack for my granddaughter. Maybe one piece of junk like she wants, and one nice one so she can remember it when I'm gone?

I have an AC model IB with a cab and a snow plow to restore. Right now it is in 1,000,000 pieces. I also have an AC I-400 with a transmission that need rebuilt. I think I'll keep busy.

Good for you. Ive been teaching myself bass guitar. Havent a clue where and what all the notes are yet but I can play a few songs on it. Probably helps that I have listened to the songs for over 20 years so I know what they sound like so that helps. Not sure I would have enough talent to play a guitar. The bass I have only has 4 strings not 6 like a guitar (lol).

Remodel the master bath...

A dreaded job I've put off for too many years. I have no choice now, the suspected leaking shower has revealed it's self, the sheetrock gave way and is now covered with a duct taped trash bag!

Still haven't decided exactly what I'm going to do in there, so many problems, so little time and money!

Hopefully none for me, I like to work outside in the winter mostly with the horses, but I'm not finding any work yet at any horse farms.

No real goals this winter for the first time ever. Just a few jobs I can putter away on to keep me busy. The more the body hurts the less desire I have to keep pushing.

Learning anything related to music is a wonderful goal as whatever you learn lasts a lifetime.

I can play just enough to be dangerous on guitar, violin (prefer to call it a fiddle), mandolin, piano accordion, pedal steel guitar and electric acoustic bass.

This winter's goal is replace a banged up left front fender and driver's door on my 1991 Ford truck. I have good parts from salvage vehicles. I just have to apply the "elbow grease".

When the snow blows I want to take apart my Troy Bilt Horse tiller and put new bearings and seals in it. I figure that's a good job to do by the wood stove. I also need to put a new A/C compressor in the 886 and new U joints on the baler and mower conditioner. It's a good thing I just keep a winter list on my phone.

Brakes and inner/outer axle bearings in our 1486, TA in our 1086, finish buddies' JD B mechanical restoration, finish other buddies' 656 hydro mechanical restoration, finish up my own JD H and Oliver 66 restoration (both 90% done), and start getting the 2 Silver Kings back together. Hopefully I can get a good chunk of it all done.

Not indoors, but need to replace the water pump on my 96 Dodge Ram. Before I do too much I would like to get my shoulder working again, before spring. I have been going to therapy, but not doing much good. Stan

I have a W-patrol in the shop for repair, dang mice filled the bell housing and everything rusted up. it was inside a shed and I kept turning the engine over and thought everything was ok. NOT. Guess I have to pull the engine to free everything up. Once it is running it may be for sale.

Rebuild the '74 Suzuki GT550 that's spread all over my garage and basement.

This is my second bike to go through this process (first was my '79 Yamaha XS650 that is now my daily rider). I'm going to do some minor customizing on the way which will involve learning a couple of new techniques. I want to build a cafe' racer type of seat and rear fairing/fender out of fiberglass and upholster it myself.

Should be interesting.

I have a 1956 Bally Bus Stop pinball to fix, no schematics. My basement also has working 1955 Juke box, 1957 Bally bowling ball machine, pool table, electric train for grandson, and brown top Foosball. Nice place to play when grand kids come over. Having Christmas at my house this year

Definately an inside job. Likely spend most of the winter in my new shop installing insulation and walls and ceiling. Work by myself the work goes slow and figure to spend most of the winter preparing the interior.

My goal is to put 2015 behind me. My body is falling apart. Cancer and multiple heart attacks and related problems, have taken their toll on me. My gidy up and go has got up and left me. I need to get the old horse back under me in 2016. I am so far behind on things, that I think I'm first.
I have a nice warm and well equiped shop, so I'll keep pluging along at one project at a time. I am finishing up the build on a 68cu.ft. dump trailer, I have a Case 930 which needs a complete overhaul, I need to get the blade back on my 310 Case dozer that I overhauled last winter, so I can get the 930 in, and finish up some detail work on the cab and wireing that I built for my Case 440 tractor last year. I need to get on the roof over the tool room at the back of the shop tomarrow to fix a leak that developed over the summer. Geese; I didn't have to work this hard before I was forced to retire. Oh well, tomarrow will be another day. HeHe

I have a very nice heated shop that I built about 10 years ago. It has been a goal the last few winters to make the space more functional. I have made some progress but its still a mess.
