Christmas Parade, Lights, Flame Thrower

Going to parade my JD 50 in this years Christmas parade. What do you guys do for lights? Small generator? Do they make a D.C. light string? Show me some pics of what you have done or any pics of tractors in lights for Christmas parades. I am also thinking about a flame thrower. Not the ones you can order for your tractors timing but something that will shoot fire out the exhaust. Anybody ever do such a thing? I'm thinkin, a straight pipe, spark plug in the pipe, coil and a switch. Will this work or am I dreamin in the daytime?

Power inverter(hooks to battery has 120 outlet), small generator will work for the main tractor the wires would tangle when revolving around axel. They make light sets with battery packs you could tie to the wheels.

What will you use for fuel for the "flame" thrower" if it works?

You may need to talk to this guy ?

An inverter for the lights. Just make sure its big enough. The tiny ones do not have too much output. How about the guts of a weed burner plumbed up to the exhaust stack. Hit the button and flames of propane out the stack.Might work. Or not!

Just thinking out of the box here for a minute.. Do you have a friend with a Rodenator and secondly, has anyone fired one outside of the gopher hole? Does make a pretty loud pop though.

My next door neighbor works on HVAC. I have pulled a couple of the burners out of smaller oil heaters. Run them with synthetic kerosene at tractor shows. They need a small 120 volt generator to power them. They make a pretty healthy DRAGON breath flame!! Just blows people away when you tell them that is what is in their oil heater. The weed flamer with LP gas is a good bet too. Harbor freight has one that goes on and off with a trigger and a striker. Ohhh that sounds pretty good to me. I am big and brave but when you play with gasoline I will let you try it.

one year my wife decided to go all out for a Christmas lite parade, took a month of work when she had time, but she took the stock truck and a 16 foot trailer, made a ski jump with santa clause starting in the truck and theoretically landing after the jump on the trailer, plus the workers from her job riding on the set up too, she had so many lites on the rig it took a 6000 watt generator to run them ,it won top honors

I hadn't thot of 12v lights. After I read your thread I went to google and there they are. Will def order some for next year.

Went to Menards last night and they have the lights with battery packs. Came home and read your thread and thot why didn't I think of that, lol. Going back today to get those for the wheels. Thanks.
Fuel for the flame thrower would be unspent gas coming thru the exhaust. They make kits for cars that do this. Burns the unused gas and makes a pretty good flame out the cars exhaust. Just wondering if anyone had done this with their tractor. Thinking outside the box.
