Grumpy Farmer

I can see concern. I disk a field near a Christmas tree sales yard, cars park on it. When the ground is damp the ground really packs hard from the cars. I need to go over it several times for the disk blades to cut in. Maybe that's his problem, or he is just a grouchy old man. I think a simple fence would have been better. Stan

That reminds me of a sign at a large metal contractor in town. The sign in front of a parking space said " reserved for President" all others moved with forklift. In the spot next to it sat a giant forklift. Never saw the forklift moved or any other car but the presidents in the space.

Story around here was a hunter who parked and tresspassed. Farmer had s backhoe. Hunter came back to find his truck surrounded by a six foot deep moat. Guess the sheriff had told farmer not to touch the truck.

I had a bow hunter come back to his illegally parked vehicle and found me guarding it carrying far more firepower...

Before we had permanent parking at our local threshing show we parked cars in the oat stubble. I was in charge of parking so I got the bright idea to plow shallow furrows to mark the parking lines, the cars would park with the front bumper right up to the furrow. It worked great for lining up the cars but several old folks with poor eyesight would try to drive over the furrow with their Buick and get hung up. Then we got a downpour of rain and cars were stuck so a couple of guys with teams of horses went out there and pulled cars out. It gave a few of our visitors a story to tell when they got home.
