Heckuva mess, eh? Where are you from in Linn County? I lived in CR for 17 years a long time ago and still get there once in a while.

mid90's chevy / gmc??? we just sent a 95 suburban to the salvage yard, had a good front end...... i knew i shoulda kept it!!

That right there is the reason I like my older cars and trucks at least they have some real metal in them. Boy hit a deer Saturday night around 11PM and the only damage to his truck was the license plate got ripped off the front bumper of his 1991 Toyota 4X4 truck. Deer s in the freezer right now

glennster, are you not the one that owns a body shop? A few years ago someone and I am thinking it was you put on that the Chrysler product vans with the strut supennsion where they rust out at top there was a repair kit avaioble for them, I might be needing that in a year or so and if there is a fix I would like to know where to get the parts. I had that give way several years ago on a 1983 Plymouth car and hoot was carring front of car. One body shop was able to weld new steel in to make it work and drove car for several years afterward.

Dorman products makes a patch kit available thru napa. If they are really bad, we fabricate new towers if the oem apron tower is not available. Mid 2000, 04,05,06 ford escapes have a bad problem with rear strut towers rusting out too. No parts available and they need to be fabricated.

Actually found pair of used bags for $100 . New impact sensor 90 bucks or so . I was surprised how bad the bumper folded up . Useless, could have been worse though I guess. Wife was following in our Concorde. Deer would have went through windshield .

I am glad you have found the parts so reasonable. Also it was good that your wife did not hit the deer in the smaller vehicle. My wife will not drive at night anymore because of fear of a dear hit. She has her first real new car and she is afraid of dinging it.

My brothers father in law. Hit a deer one morning heading to work.Doing about 80 since he was late for work.Removed just about all of the front end.Deer came through the windshield. They had to cut him and the deer out of the truck.Month in the hospital.

Hogs can be about as bad as deer. See more hog hits than deer around here.

I pasted a deer in my little escort Sunday night. Locked the brakes up and it smashed in my hood, headlights, radiator and radiator support. Possibly more damage once I tear into it.

The hood formed a ramp of sorts and the deer went air born, atleast 10 ft, possibly 15.

Thanks. This is a 98 Plymouth Voyager that is prety good looking except for that. Had sat for 4 years tied up in estate and was inside. I have had one for several years that for the last year and half has not been used due to engine problems. Friend mechanic was going to do repairs but never goot around to it so had made arangements to take it elseware to get work done. It would cost me at least 2/3 of what this van will cost me to get mine repaired and I would still have more rust problems. Van I am looking at has 110,xxx showing, my curent one has over 200,xxx on. And I will have it to drive today if I get it instead of waiting for at least 2 weeks without wheels as just the week before thanksgiving I was in a pile up with 3 semi's and got my 06 Grand Caravan totaled. I don't care about newness, just as long as fairly decent looking and dependable. Just me a 72 year old man that lost his wife in March of this year. My old van can become a parts unit then.

I hit one two years ago about this time of year - actually it jumped down from a raised bank and hit me! I knocked it back up into the air and hit it again on the hood.

I pulled over and a car coming from the other direction ran over it at about 70 mph and never slowed down - which really obliterated the poor deer and likely did that car no good (I saw it was a young man).

I like Marion - love to go to the Maid Rite for a tenderloin as soon as we hit town.

I have a good friend who lives out on Radio Road - An old Army Reserve buddy from back in the early '60s (the last century).
