Which chemical to clean up pasture

We have pasture that has not been mowed for awhile. Getting a lot of 1"-3" trees. We will mow it, and want to kill the stumps. What is a good product for this?

Nitrogen. If you get your pH and fertility where they should be your grass will shade the tree sprouts out.

You might consider using a portable drill and drill a small hole in the stump.

Fill the hole with full-strength <a href="http://www.dowagro.com/en-us/range/products/remedy-ultra">Remedy Ultra</a> herbicide.

Hope this helps.

There are several broadleaf pasture mixes that work well. Milestone, Grazon, and others.

Do you have any clovers you want to save, then a hand held spot sprayer and mix it strong, and hit the stumps the same day you cut them,
person can cover a lot of ground in an afternoon and not get rid of all the other clovers, alfalfa, etc you want to keep.

I agree with good fertilizer. If you want to spray, 2, 4-D will kill small sprouts without the residual that kills clovers. I've got lots of good Korean lespedeza so I stay away from Grazon, etc.

I would mow it, lime it, disc heavy and chop the roots and sprouts then plant and fertilize.
