Mahindra Tractors

They were built from the old International Plant in India Originally. They are of the same quality as the little 4 cyl internationals of that vintage, which was fair. ( I had some) Today I am told they are the number one tractor maker in the world by shipping them world wide. I hear folks say they are mostly good with a bad one every now and then. I consider them light duty tractors myself and dont buy them as first choice. However they will do well for mowers and light work as well as most. Important thing is where is the nearest dealer for parts support. I have one within 5 miles.

Their website lists all of the models they offer. Higher HP now, much more modern than earlier versions. When a dealer opened about 5 miles from me about 10 years ago, the New Holland dealer put up a billboard ad right across the highway from them that dwarfed any billboard around. Mahindra dealer left putting the next dealer about 90 miles away but now they have dealers all around the state. Or so they claim. I have yet to see one working anywhere.

If your a serious tractor used then they are not for you. If you are putting limited hours on a tractor then they maybe right for you. I have seen worse stuff sold here. The resale is not very good so if you buy one plan on keeping it or trading with your dealer the next time as well.

Deere seller covered it but the main problem is dealer support around me they are sold by a motorcycle dealer, lumber yard, etc. (you get the picture) and they have a different dealer every year it seems. That's my big issue.

Local New Holland dealership sells Mahindra everything. The dealership is family owned, and been around over 100 years. They have more Mahindra than New Holland tractors on their lot....People must be buying, since they have been selling them for a few years now.

I have one of their SCUTS. 25hp 3 cyl Mitsubishi. I have about 280 hours on mine. Mostly mowing, and snow work. Thing did surprise me though. Friend asked me if I could clean his barn. He had raised three Holstein steers with the attendant two or three feet of bedding and manure.
I had my doubts, but by the time an hour was up I was running that thing like a real honest to God machine. That little suburbanite poodle of a tractor snorted it up and asked for more. I couldn't be more pleased.
Only problem I've had was thing (hydrostatic)was creeping. I called and he was out that day and adjusted it on site.
The mid mount mower, the loader, tires and wheels were sourced and manufactured in the USA.

I bought a new 8560 in Feb of 2013. Not a little one it is 70 pto hp, weighs 12,200 lbs without loader, has MFWD, CHA. It is a real workhorse. Picks up a heavy Vermeer disc mower with ease, disced with it, bush hogged with a ten foot mower, round baled about 2000 large rounds. No problems so far. I am an old Oliver guy and, this Mahindra is about the same as a 1650 but much more comfortable to operate.

Tractordata.com needs to update their 8560 weight info as they show almost 4000#s less as the top weight

From Mahindra website.

"Operating weight 6878-8122 lbs = Best-in-class operating weight for more built in traction, stability and control for a safer operating environment - See more at: http://mahindrausa.com/tractors/mpower-series/mpower-85#sthash.ZNx9VlCU.dpuf"

On my previous post I left out a word. I should have said without loader bucket. Also all four tires have ballast in then because I do some baling on some steep hills. That is what got the weight up. Some questioned resale value, this is a 2012 model which makes it pre Tier IV. The dealer had a repo on his lot earlier this summer and sold it for $38,000, only $4,000 less than I bought mine for.

(quoted from post at 17:12:26 11/26/15) That is dry(shipping) wt.shown Jim,same as a 720 or 4010 and most of them weigh 12 to 16000#in the field.

Having been employed by a JD dealer for over 21 yrs and having supervised or PDI tractors myself plus hauling tractors on the interstate I'm fully aware what "Shipping weight" represents. Sorry but a JD 720 or 4010 that weights 12,000-16,000 will have some """serious amount of weights""" added to their shipping weights.
