If you can believe it....

The only place in town that carries, in stock, an oil pressure test kit, is Harbor Freight. Not one of the half dozen auto supplies, including NAPA, can get me one earlier than Monday. And this is one week before black Friday. Guess I go with Harbor Freight. I'll call Fleetpride in the AM but don't know anyplace else and they are likely to want an arm, a leg and my firstborn. I still need the first two.

Still trying to invent the time machine that can take me back to when stores had stock and service meant service.

I got mine at Granger years ago. It was a large dial type that I had to carry in my suitcase whenever I went out on a service call. I had quick connectors on the gauge and on the machines so it was easy to check pressures without a lot of wrench work.

Allstates Ag Parts is good for online orders.

I did try YT, but they didn't have what I was looking for.

RR I do not know how to post a link but OLIVER 1855 CL western Ky Lots of work done on the unit and may be priced right, I don,t keep up with olivers but though you might look.

Very much appreciated TV. Lot of good info there. Saved it to my personal archives for future reference so as I don't ask you twice!

A grease gun hose and pressure gauge, preferably liquid filled, will work just fine no reason to buy a "kit"

ou beat me to it.
That is all i ever used in my 50 years of pulling wrenches.
a 100 PSI pressure gauge and a grease gun hose.

That's what I started out with till I could do better, better meaning spending more money for the name on it... I needed adapters and a hose with more flex to get into hard places to get at...

A well pressure gage will do it and then any hose with at lest a 100 PSI rating. Never bought a store made pressure test kit yet. I use a gage for hydraulic that goes to 5,000 and one for PTO that goes to 500. Engine canbe any thing that goes over 100.
Owosso Bolt and Brass will have a gage or D&D in Corunna MI will have both the gage and a grease hose. If you take the size fitting you need with you he will probably have it also.
These will probably be in stock too. I know the hose will be and the gage will be at either one or both. The fittings can be had at your closest dealer for sure doesn't matter the brand dealer.

I'm still kind of a fledgling as a mechanic, although I get better every year that goes by. I was looking at kits because I have so many different old tractors and trucks that the kit with all the different fittings already in it would save me a lot of time running for hardware until I had the right plumbing for every engine...if that makes sense. I also wanted the quick disconnects...but had to give that up as the only kits with those in them were mail order and probably not gonna arrive until after turkey day. I need to get done here. Time is not my friend at the moment.
