rear tractor tires

i had new tires installed on my jubilee, old ones were 10x28, new ones are 11.2x28...the tread foot print on the new tires appears to be more narrow than the old ones...optical allusion?...mike

not necessarly an illusion, It sort of depends on the brand-- some brands will be a little smaller than other brands. Some times the same brand -- same tread design -- sitting a new tire beside an old one-- the old one will be a bit larger, some brands seem to have a tendancy to grow a little as they age. what brand did you take off and what brand did you put on.

I think its just the variance between tire manufacturers and tread designs.

I put new 12.4s on my 640 to replace the bald ones. Same size, but my new ones look much skinnier.

I picked up last night two new 13.6s to replace the bald ones on my 860, again same size but new ones look massive compared to the old.

(quoted from post at 11:45:27 11/19/15) great suggestion! old tires have been sent to another state...can"t measure them...any other suggestions?

At this point, you have NEW tires. Don't worry. Be happy!

If you go to www.millertire.com he has a chart that give the old and new sizes with section widths.
