Those little vertical bars that you used to see fastened to the bumper of dump trucks, tow trucks , etc. Help
the driver to determine were the front of the truck was. Sometimes they would have a reflector on the top.
Used to see them on heavy trucks back in the 60's , but haven't seen them in years. Anyone know what I am
asking about?? Bruce

Ya,I don't know off the top of my head what the correct term is,but you still see them on a lot of dump trucks around here.

google truck bumper guides. Bill

I'd think any truck stop or truck dealer should have some in stock. At least in the US ? Guys can't seem to get enough chrome or lights on their trucks.

Bill mart has it right Bumper guides
My dump truck came with a set on it, sure makes squeezing through small corral gates easy without leaving any paint behind.
I think curb feelers were the spring loaded scrapers mounted down low so Grandma would know when she was close enough to the sidewalk.

That's funny, most who drove a truck has to had seen or had these at one point or another, myself included, but I'm not aware of any correct name for them. Some of the Mack R models I have driven, had the front post mirror(s) in a similar location, those were handy, and they also launch nicely when you blow a steering axle tire, along with some fiber glass, battery box cover and split ring !

Thanks guys , my wife is always complaining about " not knowing where the end of her truck is " So I told her I should put a set of those bumper guides on for her, but I didn't know what they were called , and of coarse she has no idea what I am talking about. Hard to make girls understand stuff about trucks and tractors , it is like they don't really care , lol

we always called them rookie bars too i was lucky i put big trucks into places that nobody ever intended one to go for 20 years and never bent a bumper, i did refuse to deliver a few loads that were just beyond reason

At one time my dump had them, I was thinking of replacing the remains with coduit so I could put small flags in if I take the old beast to a show.

Snow plows guides are 36 " tall, orange, red,&yellow in my Rigid hitch book has them priced at $16.95-24.95 per pair plus shipping. Hope this helps. WILDMAN

Get her a set of convex mirrors like on the front of a school bus. Then she can see the bumper from her seat. And, everyone will recognize her vehicle....

My 78 f600 4x4 wrecker has the light ones on it,like Bill showed except mine are straight and a rounded bulb cover. They were on it when I bought it. MTP
