Cattle seem to be in free fall, but still at profitable levels. I'm going to have to go to a sale barn sale again soon.

Well i guess that the powers to be figured that the farmer has made enough money and are being over paid for the little work that they do . So now it is time to ADJUST prices and put all them rich farmers back in there place . My one friend and good OLD customer was and has been thinking about getting out of the milking end and just going all grain . That was when the prices were up. and he told me over a year ago that he was going to do away with all of his hay field . So that spring he turned all the hay ground into corn ground and put all the corn ground into beans , told me that once all the hay was gone out of the barn and the corn cribs were empty the cows were gone as he figured that with what the beans and corn were doing at the time he could get out of milking and do ok with the ground he had . Well that was last year and prices started down And his figuren went out the window and he had to stay in the milking but all his hay ground was gone . SOOOOOOo now he had to scramble to find hay . Then this year with all the rain our crops over here are no so good . My buddy and i are about a 300 to 500 ton short on silage and we did not get out the last field of corn for picking and what we did get out did not fill the one crib like it should have . We are short on hay due to the weather but we can get by THIS year with vary little to no carry over. It will be close. John boy will have to keep on seeing his girls twice a day to keep a little money coming in.

I sold feeders today and only had one that didn't bring over $1000 . He was only 455 lb. But still brought $900
