Update on Nick

Nick made it home last night and is doing fine, altho on heavy medication. He worries a lot about his memory problems and his job and finances tho. I try to tell him not to panic and that it will be ok, but sadly he got that trait from me. I think most of it comes from the oxycontin they have him on and should pass when they take him off. His spirits are improoving by the hour tho, he even joked about it with me tonight. Thanks to everyone for the encuraging words on my other post. Here is a pic of his bike. Nothing on the other driver yet other than that the car is in the police impound pending investigation.

Glad he is doing well and has caring parents to care for him. I'm sure that you will be encouraging him to get off the OC as soon as possible.

Glad that he is mending well. The oxycontin will mess with his memory for a while, and its very addictive. Please be careful with it! I know from first hand experience!

Good luck!

Scott

Hi, good health wishes for your son. Encourage him oget a car or pickup. Much safer. Ed will

Glad to hear he is improving. The worries about the memory and future income are bound to weigh heavy. I pray the problems will be smaller in the end than they seem to be at the present time. My son hit a deer with a motorcycle a few years ago. The deer was killed but he somehow kept the bike upright and was able to limp it home. His only injury was a bruised leg. His wife laid down the law and the bike was sold.

When I was 27 I had a stroke. It's a different situation, but I had lots of memory problems, too. The best thing for him is his age. They told me if I would be my parents' age the memory wouldn't have come back. That's not saying it didn't leave some permanent memory or processing things, but they are so minor compared to where I was.

The brain is an amazing thing. He needs to be patient. It will all work out for him.

Sounds like a fairly good report. It's good he's home. Not knowing the facts, on what he is taking. I believe the meds have a lot to do with his memory. He is young, and should heal good. If some of the old codgers here, like me were to do that, we would probably never completely recover. Stan

Wish him well from all of us. The recovery in a peaceful situation is called for. The bike looks mighty twisted. Jim
