Orchard Grass/Timothy

I just planted my Hay Field in August it is Orchard Grass/Timothy My Question is will the winter hurt my new planting.It really shot up with this nice weather we are having in Ohio.

Should I cut it down or will it be alright for the winter.

Leave it. Better to have more than enough growth
than not enough.

Looks like a great stand, you must have gotten rain. Leaving it will help it to put roots down deeper.

Another issue with mowing is that it might stimulate growth which is risky at this time.
