150 square bales here in southern ind ,,,. wanted to try out the NICE new arrival massey 124 ,,.. after a little twine spring adjustment and lots of wd40 , she was putting out very well ...temps was mid 70s moderate sun , with s-west breeze

I assume you meant the 5th.

Unless you are on the other side of the pond.

I never even baled hay in Oct before. Maybe a few cornstalks years ago to make up for lacking straw bales.

There was a little bit here done on the 4th. Lots of rank first cutting was done in July. Precious little second cutting was made as the water just turned off until fall.

That said, I think you will be happy with that 124. Mine isn't pretty, but it works. Came as a "2 for" with a parts baler if you need anything.

Remember when I was a senior in high school we baled hay the week of Thanksgiving. That week the temps were in the 70's. Dad had us cut a 5 acre piece of bottom ground . It was Reed Canary grass, the cows loved it. They ate it like a kid eating candy. And this was in north central Ohio. If conditions are right it can be done.

Hi, good to see the photos. It so reminds me of myself baling with nh 66 and mf 35 when I was 10 yr old. Unusual to bale this late. Good on you! Ed will. Oliver bc
