Front weights

I own a David Brown 990 and it currently doesn't have weights on the front. The tractor is light on the front when I am plowing I am going to build a frame and make some concrete weights for it. How much weight do you guys typically put on the front? If you are unfamiliar the tractor is 60 horsepower for size.

Well, you could fabricate some brackets that would make a 'U' shape around the front of your unit and salvage some hunks of iron and make them fit (like suitcase style). Scrap Iron is cheap today. HTH

The factory front stack for a 990 was about 300 pounds.

FWIW, late 990s were rated at 58 flywheel, 52 pto HP, 47 ground. Earlier ones were less.
